The Utah Valley men's basketball team suffered just its second Western Athletic Conference loss of the season as the cold-shooting Wolverines fell 71-57 to Seattle in Orem.

Utah Valley (14-9, 8-2 WAC) made just 36 percent of its field-goal attempts (19 for 53), including a paltry 5-for-20 from 3-point range.

Seattle's Isiah Umipig led all scorers with 32 points as the Redhawks outrebounded the Wolverines 42-25.

Center Ben Aird led Utah Valley with 20 points; Zach Nelson scored 15 and Holton Hunsaker added 12 but made just 3 of 13 shots.

Women's basketball

BYU 67, Portland 43 • Jennifer Hamson put up her fifth straight double-double as the Cougars rolled to the win in West Coast Conference play Thursday night at the Marriott Center.

BYU (20-5, 10-4 WCC) outscored the Pilots 41-20 in the second half.

Hamson had a game-high 27 points and 13 rebounds. Lexi Eaton added 22 points for the Cougars.

Westminster 70, Great Falls 51 • The No. 3 Westminster College women's basketball team clinched a bye into the semifinals of the upcoming Frontier Conference Tournament with a home win Thursday night over Great Falls.
