State colleges: Oregon women’s basketball team beats Utah, 93-71

The University of Oregon women’s basketball team defeated Utah 93-71 in a Pac-12 game on Saturday in Eugene, Ore.

Malia Nawahine scored a career-high 19 points to lead Utah (10-12, 3-8), Cheyenne Wilson scored 16 points, Michelle Plouffe had 13 points and 15 rebounds, and Emily Potter added 12 points.

Chirshae Rowe scored 38 points for Oregon.

BYU 73, San Francisco 66 • In San Francisco, Jennifer Hamson notched 25 points, 13 rebounds and eight blocks, and Lexi Eaton scored 19 points as the Cougars (19-5, 9-4) won the West Coast Conference game.

Kylie Maeda scored 13 points, and Kim Beeston added 10 for BYU.

San Francisco fell to 9-15 and 4-9.

Boise State 83, Utah State 62 • In Boise, Idaho, Jennifer Schlott had 15 points and five assists, becoming Utah State’s career leader in assists with 376, but the Aggies lost the Mountain West game.

Makenlee Williams scored 15 points off the bench for USU (10-12, 4-7), and Elise Nelson notched 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Miquelle Askew scored 34 points to lead Boise State (13-9, 8-3).

Southern Utah 93, Sacramento State 74 • In Cedar City, Lori Parkinson and Hailey Mandelko each scored 22 points, and the Thunderbirds (13-7, 7-4 Big Sky) shot 66.7 percent from the field in the win. Alle Moreno scored 18 points for Sacramento State (15-6, 7-5).

Snow 56, SLCC 46 • In Ephraim, Snow College snapped Salt Lake Community College’s 16- game winning streak. Natalie Parsons led SLCC (21-5, 10-1 SWAC) with 12 points.

The Badgers improved to 11-13 and 4-7.

Men’s basketball

Northern Arizona 64, Southern Utah 57 • In Flagstaff, Ariz., Northern Arizona’s Chris Yanke scored all of his points by going 8-for-8 on free throws in the final 2:01, and the Lumberjacks held off Southern Utah for the win.

John Marshall led the Thunderbirds (1-19, 0-11 Big Sky) with 10 points.

NAU improved to 10-13 and 7-5.
