Greeley, Colo. • Derrick Barden scored 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as Northern Colorado rolled to a 70-51 win over Weber State in a Big Sky Conference matchup on Thursday night.

Barden had nine points during a 13-4 Northern Colorado run to finish the first half as the Bears took a 35-26 halftime lead. Northern Colorado (9-3, 3-0) led by as many as 22 in the second half, shooting 48.3 percent from the field in the half compared with just 29.4 percent for Weber State (5-6, 2-1).

Kyle Tresnak scored 14 points and Davion Berry 13 for the Wildcats. Joel Bolomboy had 10 points and 14 rebounds.

Men's basketball

SLCC 94, Colorado Northwestern CC 61 • Kutis Toolson posted an impressive double-double of 17 points and 15 rebounds as the Bruins won at home to improve to 16-3 overall and 3-1 in SWAC play. SLCC shot 50 percent from the field and posted a 53-31 rebounding advantage.

Women's basketball

Gonzaga 68, BYU 42 • At Spokane, Wash., Lexi Eaton scored a team-high 18 points, but the Cougars shot just 31 percent from the field and were outscored 36-18 in the paint as they fell to 13-3 overall and 3-2 in West Coast Conference play.

SLCC 70, Colorado Northwestern CC 46 • Natalie Parsons hit 7 of 13 3-point shots en route to 25 points, as the Bruins (16-4, 4-0 SWAC) won their 10th straight game overall with the victory at Bruin Arena.

Wrestling

Utah Valley 28, Grand Canyon 9 • At Orem, the Wolverines won eight of the night's 10 matches, claiming victory in their home opener. UVU heavyweight Adam Fager, ranked No. 13 in the country, earned a win by way of a 3-1 decision over Peter Anguiano.
