FINAL: Lakers 110, Jazz 99
Los Angeles • Coming off a win over the Milwaukee Bucks the night before in Salt Lake City, the Jazz were searching for their first three-game winning streak of the season.
The Lakers seem to have other plans.
L.A. leads 52-40 at half-time at Staples Center.
The Lakers, looking to stop a six-game slide, jumped out to a 30-12 lead after one quarter as the Jazz shot just 23 percent from the floor. L.A. pushed the advantage to as much as 20 points in the second.
Pau Gasol, who missed last week's game in Utah with a respiratory illness, has been a throwback of himself, using an array of post moves and jumpers to score 16 first-half points.
The Jazz are led by Gordon Hayward and Enes Kanter, who have each scored eight points through two quarters.
The Lakers started their sixth different point guard of the season. But D-League signing Kendall Marshall has put on a show so far against the Jazz. The former lottery pick out of North Carolina has seven points, nine assists and four rebounds.
The Jazz cut the Laker's lead to nine late in the half.
But a last-second 3 by Jodie Meeks has L.A. up double-digits again.
