Speedskaters Heather Richardson and Brittany Bowe finished first and second in a World Cup women's 1,000-meter race for the third straight time on Sunday.
It was also the fourth time in four races this season that the women who live and train in Utah have shared the podium, suggesting they will be the skaters to beat at that distance in the 2014 Sochi Olympics in Russia two months from now.
On the final day of the last meet before the Olympics, Richardson clocked 1 minute, 14.51 seconds in Berlin for her third 1,000-meter win of the season. She also won at World Cup stops in Calgary and Astana, where Bowe was third and second, respectively.
Bowe won with Richardson second at the World Cup race at the Utah Olympic Oval last month, and clocked 1:15.42 to finish second again in Berlin.
Teammate Tucker Fredricks finished seventh in the second of two 500-meter races contested over the weekend, while Jonathan Kuck was eighth in the 5,000 metres. Fredricks clocked 35.18 seconds, while Kuck crossed in 6:20.24.
