Utah junior center Dallin Bachynski has begun practicing again after being sidelined for two weeks with a sprained ankle. The seven-footer is expected to play this Thursday against Grand Canyon in the first of Utah's three day tournament.

Bachynski missed Utah's first two games, thinning Larry Krystkowiak's big man rotation. Junior center Marko Kovacevic has also made progress towards returning from a fractured wrist.

Bachynski played well in Tuesday's practice, using his size and athleticism. At his best, he provides Utah with a physical presence in the middle. He can run the floor and he can finish with power in the paint.

But he's been maddenly inconsistent in his time as a Ute. If he can set screens and rebound and protect the paint, he could get a lot of playing time this season.
