Colorado Springs, Colo. • Utah State sophomore linebacker Kyler Fackrell earned Mountain West Conference player of the week honors Monday for his big performance in the Aggies' 47-10 victory over Hawai'i.

Against the Rainbow Warriors Fackrell had nine tackles (four solo), intercepted his first pass of the season and returned it 99 yards for his first career defensive touchdown. The 99-yard interception return is the third-longest in school and Mountain West history.

Fackrell also set the MW sophomore class record with the 99-yard interception return and led a USU defense that held Hawai'i to just 59 net yards rushing — the fewest allowed by the Aggies this season.

Other MW honorees included Air Force senior running back Anthony LaCoste, Fresno State senior quarterback Derek Carr and San José State sophomore kicker Austin Lopez.
