Davion Berry (15), Kyle Tresnak (14), Jordan Richardson (13) and Richaud Gittens (14) scored in double figures for Weber State, which opens the season at BYU on Friday night.

"We've obviously got some stuff to work on," Tresnak said. "They're a good, quick team that can shoot the ball, but we definitely need to work on some things defensively and toughness, wise. But we'll get there."

Southern Utah 75, La Verne 52 • In Cedar City, Casey Oliverson and freshman Race Parsons each scored 11 points during an exhibition game Saturday.

SUU kicks off its regular season by hosting Arizona Christian at 7 p.m. Friday.
