San Jose • A second shot at a high-exposure win is on the line for Utah State football tonight, as the Aggies kick off against Mountain West conference foe San Jose State on ESPN at 7 p.m. MT

Utah State (2-2, 1-0) is coming off a humbling defeat at USC, but history is on its side as it travels to Spartan Stadium. The Aggies have beaten San Jose State (1-2) four straight times, including a 49-27 thrashing last year in which they set a program record with 13 sacks.

The Spartans, who also played in the WAC last season, have had back-to-back defeats against BCS foes Minnesota and Stanford, but feature a high-powered passing attack. Quarterback David Fales is No. 16 in the nation in passing yardage (293.3 ypg) and his favorite target, Chandler Jones, has been one of the country's most prolific receivers.

The Aggies have their own elite quarterback in Chuckie Keeton, who is No. 18 nationally in total offense (318.5 ypg). Utah State had a season-low 285 yards of offense against the Trojans, but also features a defense that is No. 15 in the nation in yardage allowed.

The game is San Jose's first Mountain West conference game, but the Aggies previously routed Air Force ,52-20, in the second game of the year.
