Provo • No. 11-ranked BYU scored three goals in less than five minutes late in the second half to beat Oklahoma 3-2 in women's soccer Thursday night.

The Sooners (3-6-0) scored in the 10th minute and the 28th for a 2-0 lead. They had just four total shots and only two on net — both for goals.

Ella Johnson trimmed the lead to 2-1 with a goal in the 84th minute. Paige Hunt tied the game on a penalty kick in the 85th minute, and Jaiden Thornock scored the game-winner in the 88th minute for the Cougars (5-1-1), who dropped from sixth to 11th in the national rankings after losing 1-0 to University of California Irvine in Provo on Saturday.

Notre Dame de Namur 3, Dixie State 0 • In Belmar, Calif., the Red Storm took 18 shots, but couldn't score as the home team scored three second-half goals.

Dixie State is 1-2-1.

Men's soccer

Notre Dame de Namur 2, Dixie State 0 • In Belmar, Calif., the Red Storm (0-3-1) allowed a goal early in the first half and late in the second to remain winless on the season.

Women's volleyball

Utah 3, New Mexico State 2 • Morgan Odale smashed 14 kills and Chelsey Schofield tallied eight kills and 15 digs to help Utes defeat the Aggies 13-25, 25-10, 20-25, 25-23, 15-4 in Las Cruces, N.M.

Utah won its third consecutive road game and improved to 1-1 in five-set matches this season.

Makenzie Moea'i had 13 kills and Shelby Dalton added 12 for the Utes (11-1), who bounced back from a five-set loss to rival BYU at the Huntsman Center on Tuesday.

The Utes outblocked the Aggies 13 to six. They also held the advantage in hitting (.278-.201).

Carroll College 3, Westminster 2 • In Helena, Mont., the Griffins led two sets to one and led during the fifth and final set, but couldn't close out the game, losing on the road in a Frontier Conference match.

Westminster is 1-1 in conference play and 7-8 overall.

Mayra Ramirez had a team-high 15 kills, and Alyse Horton tallied a career-high 13 kills, 11 digs and two blocks. Kyndall Kordakis had a season-high 33 digs.

The Griffins host Montana Tech at the Behnken Field House at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Women's tennis

Four Cougars players won quarterfinal matches at the BYU Invitational on Thursday.

Winning for BYU in singles were Desiree Tran, who beat Southern Utah's Evgenia Marushko 6-1, 6-3; Morgan Anderson, who won 6-4, 6-3; Mayci Jones, who beat SUU's Anastasiia Vasileva 6-3, 6-0; and Savannah Ware, who won 2-6, 6-2, 6-3.

The tournament continues in Provo on Friday and Saturday.
