Chelsey Schofield had 12 kills and 11 digs as the Utah volleyball team won its eighth straight match, beating UC Irvine 25-22, 25-19, 12-25, 25-15 on Friday at the Wolverine Classic at Utah Valley University in Orem.

Morgan Odale added 10 kills as the Utes matched the school record for most victories to start a season, set in 2000.

Duke 3, Utah State 0 • In Durham, N.C., the host Blue Devils beat the Aggies 25-21, 25-14, 25-10 in the first-ever meeting between the two teams.

New Mexico State 3, SUU 1; Northern Illinois 3, SUU 2 • In Las Cruces, N.M., Southern Utah lost twice at the New Mexico State Invitational, despite winning the first set in each match. The Thunderbirds fell to New Mexico State 17-25, 25-21, 21-14, 21-20, and lost to Northern Illinois 21-25, 25-17, 24-26, 25-18, 18-16.

Westminster 3, Montana Western 1 • In Dillon, Mont., the Griffins overcame a slow start to win their Frontier Conference opener, 18-25, 26-24, 25-23, 25-19.

Women's soccer

Utah 2, UC Davis 2 (2OT) • Ali Forsberg scored in the 60th minute to help the host Utes salvage the tie with the Aggies. Utah's Allie Wisner scored in the 15th minuted to tie the game at 1-1, after UC Davis had opened the scoring in the second minute on an own goal.

Goalkeeper Cheyanne Mulcock made nine saves for the Utes (2-2-2).

Arkansas 3, Utah State 2 (OT) • In Logan, Rachel Riggs scored just 43 seconds into overtime to give the No. 25-ranked Razorbacks (7-0-0) the win. Mari Miyashiro and Taryn Rose scored for Utah State (4-1-1).

Weber State 3, Wyoming 2 • In Laramie, Wyo., Mackenzie Harrison scored with less than 3 minutes remaining to cap the Wildcats' comeback from a 2-0 deficit for the win. Harrison scored twice in the indoor game at Wyoming's Indoor Practice Facility.

Brecken Holbrook scored the tying goal for Weber State, off an assist from Abbey Kennedy.

Martin Methodist 2, Westminster 0 • In Columbia, Ky., the RedHawks scored two second-half goals to beat the Griffins at the Lindsey Wilson Stanno Classic.
