Berera, Ohio • Browns rookie linebacker Barkevious Mingo is waiting for results of medical tests before he can return to practice after bruising his lung.

Mingo spent two days in the hospital last week after he was taken out of Thursday's exhibition against Detroit. On Wednesday, Mingo said "everything is feeling good" and that he's obeying doctor's orders to stay off the field and rest. Mingo believes he sustained the "freakish" injury on the opening kickoff but doesn't recall taking a hit on the play.

Mingo said he last visited doctors on Tuesday. Mingo said he twice spit up blood and had shortness of breath during the game.

The first-round draft pick from LSU is trying to stay positive and said he's using the down time to learn as much as he can.
