The Salt Lake Community College volleyball team will open its 2013 season Friday and Saturday at the Reiver Classic in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

The No. 6 Bruins meet three teams ranked in the National Junior College Athletic Association Top 5.

On Friday, the Bruins will face tournament host No. 2-ranked Iowa Western Community College at noon (MDT) before playing No. 4 San Jacinto Community College at 4 p.m.

SLCC meets Polk State College on Saturday at Noon before taking on No. 1 Western Nebraska Community College at 3 p.m.

The Bruins, who were 22-7 last season, 7-3 in Scenic West Athletic Conference competition, plays their first home match Aug. 30 against No. 8-ranked Missouri State University-West Plains at Bruin Arena.
