Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez is holding what authorities have said is a gun in several surveillance photos that were released Thursday and had been recorded hours before — and minutes after — his friend was shot to death.

The photos, taken from Hernandez's home surveillance system, are in more than 100 pages of court records released by Attleboro, Mass., District Court. Prosecutors have previously described the photos in court and in affidavits, but this is the public's first look at images showing Hernandez holding a gun both before and after the killing.

Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to murder in the death of Odin Lloyd, a 27-year-old Boston semi-professional football player whose body was found June 17 in an industrial park about a mile from Hernandez's home. He was shot five times.

Four pictures show Hernandez in his basement holding a gun shortly after Lloyd was killed, an affidavit released Thursday says. The surveillance was cut off within minutes.

Two other photos show what authorities say is Hernandez in his living room, a few hours before Lloyd's killing, also holding what they say is a gun.

Authorities believe Lloyd was killed with a .45-caliber Glock, which they have said hasn't been recovered. Prosecutors have said that a gun Hernandez is seen holding in the home surveillance appears to be a Glock.

Authorities recovered an ammunition clip for .45 caliber bullets in Hernandez's Hummer as well as ammunition of the same caliber inside a condo he rented in Franklin, Mass.

Around the league

Falcons • Quarterback Matt Ryan and Atlanta agreed to a five-year, $103.75 million contract extension on Thursday that was being finalized as he led the offense through practice on the first day of training camp.

Redskins • Defensive end Adam Carriker is out another four to five months after a third surgery on his right knee. Carriker was placed on the active physically unable to perform list. He tore the quad tendon in his knee in the second game last season and likely will sit out this season.

Buccaneers • Three-time All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis took the field for the first time since tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee with the Jets last September and since the big offseason trade that brought him to Tampa. He was limited to mostly defensive and position drill work, but Revis considered the day a significant step forward in his recovery.

Cowboys • The team announced a multi-year, multimillion-dollar branding deal that will change the name of Cowboys Stadium to AT&T Stadium. The name change for the $1.2 billion Cowboys Stadium takes effect immediately.

49ers • Starting cornerback Tarell Brown voided a $2 million escalator in his contract after he chose not to participate in the team's voluntary offseason program. Brown said after practice that he learned of it via Twitter on Thursday because he didn't know about that clause in the deal, and he then fired agent Brian Overstreet for the mistake.
