Arena football: Chicago beats weary Blaze on the road
The Utah Blaze dropped the last of three games in a row on the road, falling to the Chicago Rush 67-43 in Rockford, Ill.
The Blaze (4-7) started off hot, with quarterback Tommy Grady throwing a 19-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Mario Urratia in just the fourth play.
Chicago (7-5) quickly answered, and after Utah scored again on a touchdown by wide receiver AJ Jackson, the Rush had two unanswered scores.
The Blaze trailed by just six points at halftime, but the Rush's lead ballooned to 53-28 in the second half. Chicago's final touchdown came with just seven seconds remaining.
Rookie wide receiver Braylon Bell also scored for the Blaze, and Urrutia made another touchdown reception.
Grady was intercepted in the third quarter by Chicago's Kelvin Morris, which led to a Rush touchdown.
Backup Jason Boltus replaced Grady in the fourth and threw two touchdown passes.
