Eugene, Ore. • Utah's Amanda Mergaert finished third in the women's 1,500 meters, earning All-American honors with a time of 4 minutes, 14.89 seconds at the NCAA Track and Field Championships.

The senior is only the second Utah athlete to earn All-American honors in cross-country, indoor and outdoor track. Her time was a personal best and just over a second out of first place (Oklahoma State's Natalja Piliusina won in 4:13.25 and Florida's Cory McGee was second in 4:13.94).

"I ran to win the race because I wasn't just happy to be here," Mergaert said. "I knew I could cause some damage after the preliminary run on Thursday and I never stopped believing in my abilities. I couldn't ask for more."

Weber State's Amber Henry finished third in the 3,000 steeplechase, earning All-American honors with a personal-best time of 9:43.39.

Colorado's Emma Coburn was first in 9:35.38 and Florida State's Colleen Quigley took second in 9:38.23.

Clemson junior Brianna Rollins broke her own collegiate record in the 100 hurdles.

Rollins finished in 12:39 seconds, besting her mark of 12.47 seconds set in the semifinals Thursday. That time topped the previous record of 12.48 set by Southern California's Ginnie Powell at the 2006 NCAA outdoor championships in Sacramento, Calif.

Top-ranked Kansas wrapped up its first women's team title before the day was finished and had 60 points, thwarting Oregon's attempt to sweep team titles this year in the sport's three NCAA championships.

Texas A&M and Florida shared the men's title with 53 points apiece.
