Bees lose slugfest to Las Vegas

Kole Calhoun homered and drove in three RBIs, but the Salt Lake Bees gave up 16 hits and lost to the Las Vegas 51s 13-9 in Pacific Coast League action Sunday in Las Vegas.

After trailing 5-2 , the Bees scored two runs in the third inning and three in the fourth to take the lead. But the 51s tied the game in the bottom of the fourth and regained a lead they would not relinquish in the fifth.

Luis Rodriguez and Matt Long each drove in two runs for Salt Lake, which finished with 10 hits.

Starter Kip Wells gave up seven earned runs and two homers, and Chad Cordero (1-2)suffered the loss for the Bees.
