The scoreboard read 1-1, but it didn't feel that way to Nat Borchers.

"It feels like a loss," the Real Salt Lake defender said after his team conceded a late goal to draw with the Chicago Fire on Saturday. "For sure it did. To be up 1-0 and not be able to close things out, it feels like a loss."

But RSL won't have much time to think about what could have been.

The team has a quick turnaround, beginning Open Cup play at Rio Tinto Stadium on Tuesday before continuing its four-game MLS homestand Saturday against the San Jose Earthquakes.

With the Atlanta Silverbacks next up for RSL, the team will be looking to rebound off a poor showing and an early exit from last year's Open Cup. Salt Lake dropped a 3-1 decision to the Minnesota Stars of the North American Soccer League.

"That's unacceptable," RSL coach Jason Kreis said of last year's loss, "and we're going to take a very aggressive approach to the tournament this year."

Real's regular-season schedule then features a rematch of the season opener. RSL waltzed in to Buck Shaw Stadium and captured a 2-0 road victory over the Earthquakes thanks to a pair of second-half goals from Alvaro Saborio to kick off the new year.

Saborio, however, could be held out with an injury suffered against the Fire.

"It was his left quadriceps injury that we've been dealing with, and I think that he may have re-tweaked it on that very first left-footed shot over the goalkeeper," Kreis said after Saborio's first action in more than a month.

San Jose will be looking for revenge — and its first road win of the year. The Earthquakes are 0-4-2 away from home this year and have failed to score a goal in each of their four road defeats.
