Los Angeles Angels right-handed pitcher Kevin Jepsen will begin his rehab assignment with Salt Lake, beginning Wednesday against the Memphis Redbirds in Spring Mobile Ballpark.

Jepsen is expected to appear in two games with the Bees. Game time is 6:35 p.m.

Also, the Angels optioned right-handed pitcher Ryan Brasier to Salt Lake and right-handed pitcher Ty Kelley has been reassigned from Salt Lake to Single-A Inland Empire.

Jepsen, 28, had appeared in six games of relief for the Angels this season (0-1, 9.82) before being placed on the disabled list April 12 due to a right triceps injury. He appeared in 49 games of relief for the Angels in 2012, with a 3-2 record and a 3.02 ERA. Jepsen also appeared in 23 games for the Bees last season, finishing with a 2-2 record, 3.24 ERA and 35 strikeouts.

The Anaheim, Calif., native was originally selected by the Angels in the second round of the 2002 Draft.
