After routing yet another opponent Thursday, the Salt Lake Community College women's softball team now faces Chipola College in the quarterfinals of the National Junior College Athletic Association National Tournament on Friday at 2:30 p.m. in St. George.

The No. 6-ranked Bruins (50-9) needed only five innings to dispatch Weatherford College (49-7) 10-2, their its second consecutive run-rule victory.

SLCC sophomore starter MaCauley Flint used eight strikeouts to help pick up the victory. Meanwhile, sophomore designated player Whitney Holt smacked a solo home run in the third inning and a pair of sophomores, infielder Maddy Woodard and outfielder Hannah Williams, drove in two runs each. Sophomore outfielder Malia Campos scored three times.
