Uniondale, N.Y. • ESPN Radio's New York station is airing the Hofstra University radio station's feed of tonight's New York Islanders playoff game in Pittsburgh.

Hofstra's WRHU is believed to be the only college radio station that has an affiliation with a professional sports franchise. WRHU began airing Islanders hockey games in 2010.

The games are broadcast by a professional play-by-play announcer, Chris King, and a student color analyst, Kevin Dexter.

The Islanders are currently tied 2-2 with the Penguins in the best-of-seven playoff series.

ESPN, which airs in New York at 98.7, announced Thursday it would pick up the WRHU feed of Game 5, tonight from Pittsburgh. An Islanders spokesman said no decision has been made about Game 6 on Saturday.

A Hofstra spokeswoman declined to discuss questions regarding broadcast rights.
