Weber State senior Derek Harrebomee set career marks in the hammer throw and has been named the Big Sky Men's Field Co-Athlete of the Week. Harrebomee earned the honor after his performance at last week's Weber State Twilight Meet.

Harrebomee, a native of Lakeside, Calif., took first place in the hammer throw with a career-best mark of 197-feet, 8 inches, Wednesday at the Weber State Twilight Meet in Ogden. That mark currently ranks as the third best in the Big Sky this season and ranks 36th in the NCAA West Region. The mark also ranks as the fourth best in Weber State history.

This is Harrebomee's first career Big Sky Athlete of the Week honor. He shared this week's honor with Shawn Johnson of North Dakota.

The Weber State men's and women's track and field teams will compete this Friday and Saturday at the Big Sky Conference Championships in Portland, Ore.
