For only the second time in school history, the Westminster College men's lacrosse team is a No. 2 seed when it competes in the MCLA National Championships, beginning May 13 in Greenville, S.C.

The tournament runs through May 18. Westminster (14-5) takes on Briarcliffe (9-4) with the winner advancing to a quarterfinal game between the winner of Palm Beach Atlantic (Fla.) and Indiana Tech.

Briarcliffe is the tournament's No. 15 seed and is making a fourth straight trip to the national tournament.

The Griffins are 9-5 in seven consecutive trips to the championships. Westminster won the 2008 national championship after entering the tournament as the No. 1 seed. They last reached the semi-finals at the 2010 tournament.
