The UCLA baseball team held off Utah for a 5-4 win in a Pac-12 game Saturday in Los Angeles.

The Utes (16-25, 5-18) scored two runs in the eighth inning but their rally came up short.

T.J. Bennett went 2 for 3 with two RBIs for Utah, including a run-scoring single in the eighth.

Utah starter Dalton Carroll (3-6) took the loss, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits over six innings.

Loyola Marymount 2, BYU 1 • In Los Angeles, the Lions scored two runs on the bottom of the sixth to Beat the Cougars in a West Coast Conference game. BYU (24-18) had taken a 1-0 lead in the fifth, when Dakota Hernandez hit a leadoff triple, and Hayden Neilsen drove him in with a single.

Softball

BYU 7-4, Saint Mary's 6-1 • In Provo, the Cougars swept the doubleheader to clinch the Pacific Coast Softball Conference championship. Coco Taualii hit a walk-off single in the seventh inning to give the Cougars (32-23, 19-5) the 7-6 win in the opener. Tori Almond (11-6) pitched a no-hitter to earn the win in the second game.

BYU's Katie Manuma went 5 for 5 with two RBIs on the day.

Washington 11, Utah 8 • Kelsi Hoopiiaina went 3 for 4 with four RBIs for Utah (24-28-1, 7-16 Pac-12), but the host Utes lost the middle game of the Pac-12 series.

Loyola Marymount 2-0, Utah Valley 1-1 • In Los Angeles, the Lions won the first game in 10 innings; the Wolverines (35-18, 14-8) salvaged the sweep when Kylee Brinkerhoff led off the seventh with a double and eventually scored on Jamie North's grounder.
