Dixie State is one of five ranked Pacific West Conference teams in the hunt for a berth in the NCAA Division II Softball Championship Tournament. An automatic berth is up for grabs for the conference champion — Dixie State, Hawai'i Hilo or Grand Canyon.

The third-ranked Red Storm (32-11) are sure to be part of the 64-team, eight-region field which will be announced Sunday at 8:30 a.m. (MDT).

The Top 8 teams in the region will earn a berth in the double-elimination tournament that is split into a pair of four-team sub-regionals. The winners then meet for a best-of-three series for a berth in the National Championship round.

The PacWest regular season closes out this weekend when Grand Canyon visits Dixie State on Friday and Saturday for a four-game series and Hawai'i Pacific travels to Hawai'i Hilo for a pair of contests. All six games will have major implications in the battle for the conference title as well as berths in the West Region Tournament.
