In Spokane, Wash., Gonzaga snapped its three-game losing streak at BYU's expense, winning 6-4.

BYU took the early lead, as Jacob Hanneman scored in the top of the third. But Gonzaga quickly struck back, evening the score with Caleb Woods' two-out home run in the bottom of the inning.

A controversial play in the fourth inning frustrated the Cougars when Brock Whitney had a double but was later called out at the plate and Dakota Hernandez was ruled out by way of interference to end the inning.

Gonzaga scored the eventual game-winners in the seventh and held off BYU's rally attempt in the eighth inning, where BYU scored three runs.

Dixie State started strong, with a 3-0 lead in the first inning. But Cal Baptists' Luke Esquerra had three RBIs to clinch the win.

The Red Storm's Mike Dedrick retired the first nine batters, but allowed five runs — four earned — in eight innings and was tagged with the loss.
