Snow College running backs coach Beni Tonga has accepted a position as assistant football coach at Oklahoma State University. Among other duties, Tonga will be the Player Development Specialist working with the recruiting office and leading the Cowboy effort in recruiting players of Polynesian descent.
"Beni has done a great job working with our student athletes," Snow athletic director Rob Nielson said. "He is a great role model and will continue to assist students in his new position."
Tonga attended Snow from 2004 through 2006 where he was a starting running back for the Badgers. He went on to play for head coach Dennis Erickson at Arizona State University in 2007 and 2008. Tonga returned to Snow as assistant football coach in 2010 and worked under head coaches Steve Coburn and Tyler Hughes.
