Utah State's Christine Thomsen soared at the plate last week, pounding out a .737 batting average in a six-game run which earned the Aggie infielder the Western Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week, respectively. This is the first-ever honor for Thomsen.

Thomsen, a senior Fresno, Calif., had multiple hits in all six games. She helped power USU to its second WAC series win of the season as she went 2-for-3 in Friday's series opening loss to Louisiana Tech. In Friday's nightcap, Thomsen was 3-for-4 and scored a run en route to an 8-4 win. In the series finale, she went 3-for-4 and scored a run to help seal the victory.

Earlier in non-conference play, Thomsen went 2-for-3 and scored a run against Utah Valley, 2-for-3 with one RBI against Utah, and 2-for-2 with a double and two walks against Southern Utah.
