A four-run third inning lifted the Oregon State baseball team to a 4-1 win over Utah on Sunday in Corvallis, Ore., giving the Beavers a sweep of the three-game series.

Utah (14-17,4-11 Pac-12) had two of its three hits in the game in the second inning to take a 1-0 lead. A.J. Young led off the inning with a double and scored when Wyler Smith singled.

Beau Day hit a two-RBI double for the sixth-ranked Beavers (28-6,10-2).

Utah Starter Tanner Banks (1-4) took the loss, giving up four runs on seven hits over three innings.

Softball

Oregon State 10, Utah 2 • Kristen Stewart and Marissa Menenhall drove in runs in the first inning for the Utes (18-23-1, 4-11), but the Beavers (26-15, 3-9) stormed back to finish the game in five innings.
