Ogden • Ogden - As Weber State continues to take out its frustrations of not being part of the NCAA Tournament, Scott Bamforth has put on a shooting clinic.
In two CollegeInsider.com Tournament games, including Saturday’s 78-57 victory against Air Force, the Wildcat guard has tickled the twine 12 times from the 3-point line.

His school career record breaker, No. 247, which came during a 14-0 surge late in the second half, broke the wings of the visiting Falcons and caused an impromptu celebration among the 6,113 in the Dee Events Center.
"Scott is what you call a pure shooter, every time he shoots it it looks like it’s going in," said Weber State coach Randy Rahe, who also admitted not knowing about the mark and expressed confusion about the celebration.
Bamforth’s wife told him about the approaching record, set last season by Damian Lillard.
"Obviously, it’s a cool thing," Bamforth said. "It feel good because there are a lot of assists in that.
"It’s probably the only thing I’ve beaten Dame in."
Weber State continues its CIT run Wednesday, hosting either Oral Roberts or UC Irvine, which play Monday.
"We’re not tired," Bamforth said. "We like basketball."
The victory, one in which Weber State (28-6) led the entire way and set a school and Big Sky Conference mark for wins in a season, was more than a one-man show.

Kyle Tresnak has also picked the right time to play his best offensive basketball. The Wildcats’ post scored 21 on 9-of-10 shooting. In two CIT games, Tresnak is 19 of 21 from the floor.
"My teammates have really been looking to get it inside," Tresnak said. "I’m getting good rhythms to start and I’ve hit my first few shots. It just keeps going."
Gelaun Wheelwright also had key bucket during Weber State’s late run and finished with 10 points.
After a sloppy turnover, Air Force (18-14), which had won only five games away from home this season, pulled to within seven, 60-53, with seven minutes to play. Instead of panicking, Weber State took charge.
As WSU stymied Air Force’s potent 3-point attack, Tresnak and Wheelwright scored, Davion Berry, who finished with six assists and five rebounds, dropped in a pair of foul shots.
Then Bamforth buried the record-breaking 3-pointer and followed that with a 2-pointer. Tresnak finished the streak which took four minutes.
"Our guys, I thought they played with great confidence all night," Rahe said. "Even though [Air Force] cut the thing down, I didn’t see our confidence waver. There was no panic. The guys came out and made plays."
