Provo • A late barrage of 3-pointers gave Washington a 35-33 lead over BYU at halftime in an NIT first-round game Tuesday night.
The Cougars led most of the first half, including by seven at one juncture.

But Washington’s C.J. Wilcox, the Pleasant Grove High product, hit a pair of 3-pointers in the final eight minutes, including a long shot just before the buzzer, to send the Huskies into intermission with the lead.
Tyler Haws scored 17 points for BYU on 6 for 12 shooting, while three Huskies scored six points apiece.
The Cougars shot just 33.3 percent in the first half and were just 2 for 12 from 3-point range. Washington made six of its 10 3-point attempts.
