Thanks to a productive weekend with the bat, Utah State’s Christine Thomsen was selected the Western Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week.
Thomsen, a senior infielder from Fresno, Calif., hit .476 with a .619 slugging percentage and .560 on-base percentage during a seven-game stretch that saw the Aggies go 5-2. Thomsen was 10-for-21 and also walked four times. Her double in the bottom of the seventh inning against Portland State helped overcome a five-run deficit in the seventh to send the game into extra-innings. The Aggies eventually won the game 6-5.
