Honolulu • Utah managed just five hits to lose for the first time in five games, falling 3-2 against Syracuse during the University of Hawaii Tournament.

Utah 2-11, Weber State 1-3 • The Aggies swept the Wildcats for their first wins of the season. Utah State and Weber State are both 2-20.

Men's tennis

Utah 5, UC Irvine 2 • The Utes lost the doubles point, but rebounded by winning five of six singles matches, including Ben Tasevac, who rallied to win at No 5 singles, 1-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Utah (8-5) had lost four straight matches.
