NFL • Jeff Saturday retired as an Indianapolis Colts player Thursday and immediately started a new life in the organization that brought him into the league.

After starting his 14-year career as an undrafted free agent, Saturday went on to play in two Super Bowls, winning one with the Colts, and teamed with Peyton Manning to set an NFL record for games played between a quarterback and center. The two played 170 games together.

Colts owner Jim Irsay says Saturday will now work in the team’s marketing and community relations department.

Tennis to increase tests for doping

Tennis • Tennis is adopting the biological passport program and increasing the number of blood tests as part of a new anti-doping drive that players themselves have demanded.

The biological passport tracks a player’s blood profile over time for any changes that could indicate doping.

With the sport under pressure to do more against doping, the International Tennis Federation said Thursday the measures will go into effect this year.
