Derrick Rose's brother criticizes Bulls

An odd story surfaced this week in Chicago, where All-Star Derrick Rose's brother criticized the Bulls for lack of trade deadline activity. Reggie Rose told ESPNChicago.com, "What have you pieced together? ... It's frustrating to see my brother play his heart and soul out and them not put anything around him."

Kirilenko retiring from international play

Andrei Kirilenko told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune he is retiring from international competition. He has played for Russia since the 2000 Olympics. "I want to be a better dad," said Kirilenko, who has three young children. "I think I already give a lot — play 12 years on the national team." Kirilenko, 32, spent 10 years with the Jazz.

Portland waives Lillard's mentor

Portland waived point guard Ronnie Price on Friday, a couple of weeks after he spoke of helping mentor rookie Damian Lillard: "Damian has a lot of people in his ear. … So I don't bombard him with even more opinions. He's done absolutely wonderful so far, but he knows Big Bro is here if he needs it."

Fredette unbothered by U. fans' booing

When Sacramento plays the Jazz at EnergySolutions Arena, Jimmer Fredette is still cheered by BYU fans and booed by University of Utah fans. "It's going to happen," he said. "Obviously this is Utah territory up here. … It doesn't bother me too much. I listen to the cheers, mostly, and just go play."
