MLS • Real Salt Lake will play in the final of the Desert Diamond Cup preseason tournament thanks to a win over the New England Revolution.

After RSL rookie Devon Sandoval scored a first-half goal, Salt Lake gave up a pair of second half goals to the Revolution. RSL tied the game on an Alvaro Saborio goal in the 88th minute. Trialist Khari Stephenson scored the go-ahead goal in the 90th minute.

Also Wednesday, Real Salt Lake traded the rights to midfielder Jonny Steele to the New York Red Bulls in exchange for a supplemental draft pick.

RSL declined to pick up an option on Steele at the end of last season, but the team still held his MLS first rights of refusal.

Armstrong won't tell all to USADA

Cycling • Lance Armstrong will not do a tell-all interview under oath with the agency that exposed his performance-enhancing drug use and took his seven Tour de France titles.

The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency had told Armstrong he would have to reveal all knows about doping in cycling if he wanted to reduce his lifetime ban from sports.

NCAA: ex-assistants misled Miami probe

College Athletics • A person familiar with the situation says that the NCAA believes former Miami assistant coaches Clint Hurtt, Aubrey Hill and Jorge Fernandez provided false or misleading information during the probe into the university's athletics.
