Los Angeles • Taylor Sander smashed a match-high 23 kills to lead No. 1 BYU over No. 10 USC — 25-18, 17-25, 25-22, 25-18 — in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men's volleyball Saturday night.

Ryan Boyce had 47 assists and Russ Lavaja tallied 11 kills for the Cougars (9-3, 8-3), which lost at No. 5 Pepperdine in five sets Friday night.

Wrestling

Utah Valley 23, Air Force 9 • The Wolverines snapped a two-match losing streak by winning seven of 10 bouts, including major decisions by Josh Wilson at 149 pounds and Adam Fager at heavyweight, in their regular-season finale in Orem.

Utah Valley is 6-4 and 3-2 in the Western Wrestling Conference.

Baseball

Loyola Marymount 1, Utah 0 • Trevor McGill threw a three-hitter, striking out 11 over seven innings, to lead the Lions over the Utes (1-1) in Los Angeles.

BYU 5, Northern Illinois 3; Texas Tech 5, BYU 1 • Brennon Anderson went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Jeff Barker allowed two hits and one run in six innings for the Cougars in their win over Northern Illinois at the Brooks Wallace Memorial Classic in Lubbock, Texas.

In Game 2, Adam Law was 2-for-4 and Jacob Hanneman went 2-for-5 for BYU (2-2), which outhit Texas Tech 7-4 but left 10 runners on base and walked eight batters.

UC Riverside 8, Utah Valley 7 • Riverside scored three runs in the seventh inning and two more in the eighth to rally past the Wolverines, who ended the game on a strikeout with a runner on third base at the Palm Spring (Fla.) Tournament.

Sean Moysh was 4-for-5 with two doubles and two runs, and Kai Hatch had two RBIs for Utah Valley (1-2),

Prairie Baseball Academy 14, SLCC 10 • Salt Lake Community College (5-4) lost its first game at the Coyote Slugout in Henderson, Nev., after winning twice Friday.

Softball

Cal State Fullerton 8, Utah 0 (5) • Jasmine Antunez threw a one-hitter, striking out five and walking none, in a five-inning game against the Utes (2-6) at the Desert Classic in Las Vegas.

BYU 4, Cal State Fullerton 3; Portland State 5, BYU 3 • Ashlee Brawley Robinson and JC Clayton each had two hits to lead the Cougars over Cal State Fullerton in Game 1 of the Desert Classic in Las Vegas.

In Game 2, the Cougars (4-6) allowed three Portland State home runs. They finished 2-3 in the tournament.

Cal 12, Utah Valley 4 (5); UNLV 9, Utah Valley 5 (8) • Kylee Brinkerhoff was 1-for-3 with two RBIs for the Wolverines in Game 1 in their five-inning loss to the Golden Bears at the Desert Classic in Las Vegas.

In Game 2, the Wolverines (5-4) scored in the top of the seventh inning to force extra innings, but the Rebels scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth.

Nebraska 9, Utah State 0 (6); Drake 5, Utah State 0 • Cornhuskers' pitcher Emily Lockman struck out eight and walked two in a no-hitter in six innings during Game 1 against the Aggies at the Hillenbrand Invitational in Tucson, Ariz.

Utah State (0-9) had just four hits against Drake in Game 2.

Arizona 6, Southern Utah 3; Purdue 8, Southern Utah 0 (5) • Meagan Neilson hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning against the Pac-12 Wildcats in Game 1 during the Hillenbrand Invitational in Tucson, Ariz.

In the five-inning Game 2, SUU (2-6) had just three hits against the Boilermakers.

Dixie State 11, Cal State San Bernardino 9; Dixie State 7, Chowan (N.C.) 3 • Siera Phillips went 3-for-3 with two RBIs in Game 1 against CSSB, and Kylee Bufton was 3-for-3 with a home and against Chowan in Game 2 for the Red Storm (8-3), who have won three straight games.

SLCC 7-10, Western Nevada 3-2 • The top-ranked Bruins swept a Scenic West Athletic Conference doubleheader, winning 7-3 and 10-2 in Carson City, Nev.

In Game 1, Payton Palmer was 3-for-3 and Lauryn Kirschner went 2-for-4 with three RBIs.

In Game 2, Maddy Woodard was 3-for-3 with three RBIs and Whitney Holt hit a home run and drove in three runs for SLCC (18-3, 12-0), which has won 16 straight games.

Men's tennis

Utah 4, UNLV 3 • Dmytro Mamedov rallied from a set down to win 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2 singles to propel the Utes (7-1) to victory at home.

Montana 7, Southern Utah 0 • The Thunderbirds (0-1) won 3 out of a possible 96 games against the previously winless Grizzlies in their first match of the season.

Women's tennis

BYU 5, Boise State 1 • In Provo, Desiree Tran won in straight sets at No. 2 singles to remain unbeaten and help the Cougars (4-0) maintain their status as the only unbeaten team in the West Coast Conference.

Eastern Washington 6, Weber State 1 • Ashley Tanner earned the Wildcats' (2-7) only point, winning 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 at No. 2 singles in Big Sky Conference play.

Grand Canyon University 9, Dixie State 0 • The Red Storm (2-6) lost their fourth straight match without winning a game.

Track and field

Utah • Angela Kaplar won the 55-meter hurdles during Day 2 of the Wildcat Indoor Invitational in Ogden, finishing in 8.12 seconds.

Kailey Hansen won the high jump, clearing 5 feet, 51/4 inches and Klaudia Rokossa cleared 12-91/2 in the pole vault to place first for the Utes.
