Only two weeks removed from a four-game losing streak, Utah State basketball is hunting for its third straight win.

The Aggies (16-5, 7-4) will look to spoil a home return for San Jose State (9-13, 3-8) at the Event Center on Friday night. The Spartans will be hoping for revenge against the team that set them on their current chain of seven straight defeats.

Utah State is playing its best basketball since injuries to starters Preston Medlin and Kyisean Reed. The Aggies swept their two-game road trip last week with double-digit wins at Idaho and Seattle.

Helping lead that comeback has been Jarred Shaw, who is shooting over 69 percent and averaging 21.3 points and 10.0 rebounds in the last three games. Junior guard Spencer Butterfield has been the team's leading rebounder over that same stretch, and will be hunting for his fifth double-double.

San Jose State has been the Western Athletic Conference's worst-scoring team in league games, averaging only 58.6 points per game. The Spartans have been reeling since the suspension of James Kinney, at one time the WAC's leading scorer.
