Seattle • Halfway through the second game of a road trip, Utah State is well on its way to its second sweep dance of the season.
The Aggies controlled home team Seattle in the first half Saturday, clawing their way to a 30-19 lead. Even with leading scorer Jarred Shaw on the bench for a considerable stretch with foul trouble, freshman Marcel Davis led the way with a game-high seven points.

A big part of the advantage came on the boards, where Utah State edged the WAC-leading rebounders 22 to 12. Marvin Jean also contributed heavily to the defensive effort with four steals and a block as the Redhawks struggled against the zone.
Offensively, the Aggies kept it even. Jean and TeNale Roland each had five, while Ben Clifford and Shaw added four apiece. All eight scholarship players saw time and scored.
Seattle didn’t have as much luck, as three scorers were tied with four apiece. For the half, the Redhawks were only 8 for 24.
