A wild first half in Moscow saw the Aggies up by as much as 15, but Utah State eventually settled for a 31-25 lead by halftime Thursday night.

Jarred Shaw led the team with 12 points as the Aggies sprinted out to a quick lead. After trading baskets, Utah State went on a 16-1 run that put them firmly in control at the Cowan Spectrum.

The Vandals responded with an 11-0 run of their own, and closed the gap to only two points. A late surge toward the end of the half was capped by a Marvin Jean 3-pointer that gave the Aggies a six-point edge at the intermission.

Utah State is 11-0 in games when it leads at halftime.

The Aggies were also boosted by solid halves from Jean and Marcel Davis, who were held scoreless in the team's last game. Davis started out with eight points, scoring six of the first eight. Jean had six.

Idaho's Kyle Barone entered the game as perhaps the WAC's top post player, leading the league in rebounding and in the top five in scoring. He was held to six points and three rebounds in the first half. Connor Hill also had six points on a pair of 3-pointers.
