Utah coach Larry Krystkowiak will have an individual meeting with Dallin Bachynski and Jarred DuBois on Friday to make sure coach and players on the same page when it comes to Utah basketball.
Krystkowiak spoke of Bachynski on Thursday night, following Utah's 62-57 loss to Cal at the Huntsman Center.
Bachynski played three minutes in the defeat. He didn't score, and didn't grab a rebound, while turning the ball over once. He seems nothing like the player who looked so good in November that he wrested away a starting job from incumbent senior Jason Washburn.
But Bachynski has been listless lately with his play. And as he's struggled, his minutes have been drastically reduced. Krystkowiak even said freshman Jeremy Olsen will see more time as Washburn's back-up as the season wears on.
"I'm not sure Dallin's not more worried about his trials and tribulations than about what the University of Utah is going through," Krystkowiak said.
DuBois, normally a starter at shooting guard, played nine minutes and didn't play in the first half, after sitting out Tuesday and Wednesday's practice with an undisclosed injury.
Krystkowiak said DuBois proclaimed himself good to go on Thursday. But Utah's coach then said he couldn't play in the first half because he hadn't practiced.
"You can't miss two days of practice and then show up on the day of the game ready to play," Krystkowiak said.
