MMA • Cain Velasquez reclaimed the UFC heavyweight championship Saturday night, battering Junior Dos Santos on the way to a lopsided unanimous decision in UFC 155.

Velasquez (11-1) took early control of the rematch of his only career loss, flooring the champion with a big right hand midway through the first round. Velasquez spent most of the match stalking and pounding on Dos Santos (15-2), who never fully recovered from the first-round shot that left him bruised and woozy.

UConn gives coach 5-year deal

College basketball • Connecticut has given men's basketball coach Kevin Ollie a new five-year contract.

The deal, signed Saturday, is worth just under $7 million and begins Jan. 1. When Ollie was hired in September, he was signed for just one season.

• Rutgers men's basketball coach Mike Rice returned to the court Saturday after a three-game, 16-day suspension for inappropriate behavior and language.

Rice held a walk-through session with his team in his first work since he was suspended without pay and fined $50,000 on Dec. 13 for a violation of athletic department policy.

Djokovic defends WTC title

Tennis • Novak Djokovic retained his title at the World Tennis Championship exhibition tournament in Abu Dhabi on Saturday by rallying past Nicolas Almagro of Spain 6-7 (4), 6-3, 6-4.
