Las Vegas • Utah's Jesse and Jake Wright hit the jackpot in Round 3 of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo on Saturday night at the Thomas & Mack Center.

The brothers finished in a tie for first place in the saddle bronc event with matching scores of 87. They earned $16,343.

Cody Wright, the third brother from Milford to qualify for the NFR, finished sixth in the third round with a score of 79.5. He earned $2,944.

Jake Wright remains atop the saddle bronc average standings. Cody Wright is tied for third.

In bareback, meanwhile, Kaycee Feild of Payson finished in a three-way tie for third with J.R. Vezain of Cowley, Wyo., and Matt Bright of Azle, Texas. They posted identical scores of 83 and earned $7,755.

Caleb Bennett of Morgan scored a 73.5 and did not place.

Feild, the reigning world champion, is the only saddle bronc rider to place in the top six in each of the first three rounds. He is second in the average behind Will Lowe of Canyon, Texas, who won Rounds 1 and 3.

Feild has already earned $31,754 at the NFR.

In other events:

• Tom Lewis of Lehi did not place in the steer wrestling after posting a time of 4.6 seconds. But he remains fourth in the average.

• Clint Robinson of Spanish Fork finished third in the tie-down roping with a time of 7.6 seconds. He picked up his first check at the NFR, worth $10,895.

• Kelli Tolbert of Hooper finished second in barrel racing for the second time in three rounds. Her time of 13.73 seconds was worth $14,429.

• Bull rider Tag Elliott of Thatcher earned his first-ever NFR check by finishing fifth with a score of 81.5. He earned $4,712. —
