Haley Steed had 22 points and 12 assists to lead the BYU women's basketball team to an 81-77 win over Utah State on Tuesday in Provo.

Steed moved past Valerie Cravens as BYU's career assists leader, with 623.

Kim Parker Beeston scored 15 points for the Cougars (4-4), and Morgan Bailey had 12, while Ashley Garfield added nine points and grabbed 16 rebounds.

Jenna Johnson led Utah State (2-6) with 18 points, Devyn Christensen had 17, Jennifer Schlott 16 and Makenlee Williams 11.

Utah Valley 68, Weber State 56 • In Orem, Sammie Jensen had 30 points and 15 rebounds as the Wolverines (2-7) snapped a six-game losing streak.

Men's basketball

San Diego 67, Southern Utah 53 • In Cedar City, Damon Heuir led the Thunderbirds with 17 points in the loss.
