Lake Louise, Alberta • Lindsey Vonn raced to her 13th World Cup victory at Lake Louise on Saturday, leading another 1-2 U.S. sweep in the second downhill at the Canadian resort.

Vonn finished in 1 minute, 52.9 seconds to edge teammate Stacey Cook by 0.52 seconds. On Friday in the season-opening downhill, Vonn beat Cook by 1.73 seconds.

Vonn, a part-time Park City resident, will race in the super-G on Sunday in a bid to sweep the three-race event for the second straight year.

Men's skiing

Matteo Marsaglia of Italy took big risks on a challenging super-G course for his first World Cup victory.

Finding speed in sections of the hill where others were slowing, Marsaglia finished in 1 minute, 14.68 seconds to edge Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway by 0.27 seconds Saturday. Hannes Reichelt of Austria was third and Ted Ligety of the U.S. took fourth.

Luge

Germany made a strong showing in World Cup luge Saturday, with victories in men's doubles and women's singles in Koenigssee, Germany.

Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt led the men. Among the women, Natalie Geisenberger edged defending and Olympic champion Tatjana Huefner by 0.031 seconds.

Nordic combined

Jason Lamy Chappuis of France took the lead in the Nordic combined World Cup event by winning the 10-kilometer ski race Saturday in Kuusamo, Finland.

Short-track speedskating

Britain's Elise Christie and Russia's Victor An won 1,000-meter races Saturday in World Cup short-track speedskating while South Korean women swept the 1,500 in Nagoya, Japan.

Christie, the World Cup leader, was timed in 1 minute, 30.489 seconds. She was followed by two South Koreans — Kim Min-jung in 1:31.371 and Lee So-youn in 1:31.443.

An won in 1:28.344, edging J.R. Celski of the U.S. by 0.073 seconds.
