The University of Utah women's basketball team jumped out to a big lead early and cruised to a 73-47 win over Weber State on Saturday at Dee Events Center in Ogden.

Michelle Plouffe had a team-high 18 points with nine rebounds, Taryn Wicijowski scored 16 points, and Paige Crozon added 10 for the Utes (5-0), who led 22-2 after 10 minutes.

Jalen Carpenter had 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Wildcats (0-5).

Southern Utah 76, New Orleans 47 • In Lubbock, Texas, Tayler Anderson and Sofia Hepworth scored 10 points each to lead the Thunderbirds (2-2) to the win.

Westminster 65, College of Idaho 39 • In Caldwell, Idaho, the hot-shooting Griffins went on 25-3 run during the first half and claimed the championship at the Lady Yote Classic. Cydney Tibbitts led Westminster with 14 points, Nicole Yazzie and Kelsi Wells scored 13 each, and Amy Krommenhoek added 10. The Griffins (6-1) connected on 9 of 16 3-point attempts.

Felicity Jones led the host Coyotes with 10 points.
