Brooklyn, N.Y. • In somewhat of a replay from the night before, Brandon Davies found early foul trouble and, despite an overall better performance, BYU dropped the consolation game of the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic to Notre Dame, 78-68, Saturday night in the Barclay Center.
BYU (2-2) owned a 49-42 lead midway through the second half. But the Irish (3-1) went on a 16-2 run. Then Davies picked up his fourth foul and the Irish took control.

The Cougars also found it difficult to find consistent offense, shooting 39 percent. Tyler Haws, after a slow start, finished with 21 points.
Meanwhile, Notre Dame’s Jack Cooley wound up with 19 points and 14 rebounds. He was particularly effective with Davies on the bench.
