Lexi Eaton scored 19 points — including a pair of crucial free throws with 11 seconds remaining — as the BYU women's basketball team defeated Dartmouth 58-57 Tuesday in Hanover, N.H.

Morgan Bailey had 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Cougars (2-0), and Kim Parker Beeston scored 11 points.

Eaton's late free throws gave BYU a 58-55 lead, before the Big Green (1-1) missed a 3-pointer with 2 seconds remaining and scored a layup at the buzzer.

"To win like we did tonight is always a confidence builder for us even if we had some tough spots throughout the night," BYU coach Jeff Judkins said. "One thing we need to do is we need to come out better and execute in the beginning."

In a seesaw battle, Dartmouth took a five-point lead twice in the second half, including 52-47 with 5:03 remaining.

After a timeout with only 11 seconds left and the score at 56-55, Keilani Unga passed the ball inbounds to Eaton, who was fouled and sent to the line for the game-clinching free throws.
