Utah State, led by Preseason Player of the Year Devyn Christensen, is the coaches' preseason favorite to win the Western Athletic Conference women's basketball title.

The Aggies received 78 points and seven first-place votes. Louisiana Tech was second with 75 points and the other three first-place votes. Denver came in third with 55 points, while Seattle U finished fourth with 48 points, just ahead of Idaho in fifth place with 47 points. Texas State came in sixth with 41 points, followed by San Jose State in seventh with 36 points. New Mexico State (27), UTSA (26) and UT Arlington (17) rounded out the poll.

Christensen, a first team All-WAC pick last season, leads a first team of Idaho's Alyssa Charlston, Diamond Ford of Texas State, Louisiana Tech's Whitney Frazier and Kacie Sowell of Seattle U.
