One by one, Justin Seymour got himself buckets in the near-empty Huntsman Center on Monday afternoon.
They came in all facets: Long range jumpers that barely kissed the net. Mid-range jumpers. Swoops to the basket off the dribble.
The freshman shooting guard from Georgia has been a surprise in the first few days of practice.
"I don't usually single anything out, because what we do, we do as a team," Utes head coach Larry Krystkowiak said. "Justin made a lot of shots today. He's really playing well, and this is his second straight good practice. He looks like he's starting to get comfortable out there."
Seymour was easily Utah's best offensive player on Monday, at one point hitting four consecutive three-pointers. He showed variety to his game as well, making moves off the dribble to get himself easy looks at the basket.
Seymour appears to be in the mix for minutes with Aaron Dotson, Dakari Tucker and Jarred DuBois in the backcourt. If his practice performance translates to a game setting, Seymour would provide a big shooting guard presence the Utes simply didn't have last season.
